I love fabric.  I think I've always loved fabric!

I learned to sew clothing as an adolescent which was probably the beginning of my love-affair with fabric.  Later on, I developed various types of 'crafts' for a small business I had.  More often than not, I incorporated fabric into my creations.

In 2000 I 'accidentally' came across Eleanor Burns and her "Quilt-In-A-Day" PBS program.  I was intrigued with her lovely quilt blocks, and the use of a rotary cutter - something I'd never seen before.  I was intrigued to the point of purchasing some basic quilting tools; and of course, a rotary   cutter and more fabric. (!)

I became an enthusiastic "Quilter" soon afterwards - something I'd never expected to do much less be known for.

After making functional quilts from patterns for nearly four years I was ready to step out on my own.  With pencil, sketchbook, and graph paper I began developing my own designs to make quilts that could be hung on a wall.

Over the past 20+ years my quilting passion has been to make wall-art quilts specifically for competition.  I love the challenge.  The variety in the style and appearance of my work has evolved over the years, and comes from personal inspiration
and what interests me at the moment.

I use any construction method needed to accomplish what I envision - but it's not unusual for a piece to evolve from my initial vision or plan. The common thread in my work is the use of embellishment, enhancement, and/or some element of dimension.

Photography is another long-time hobby and it is a very useful tool for both myself and many other quilters.  I've captured great images which have been the basis for making either some of my landscape and pictorial quilts, or as a reference for a specific element.

The culmination of my love for fabric, my faith, and the ability I believe God has given me has resulted in quilt-art for personal enjoyment, competition, and to benefit others.  I attribute my work to Him.
